The research team at Purdue university (Shivam Sharma, Amit Varma) is currently investigating the fire performance of the FastFloor system. Nonlinear inelastic finite element models (2D and detailed 3D) have been developed and validated using results from experimental and numerical testing at ambient temperatures. Different types of commercially available fire protection materials including spray applied fire protection materials (SFRMs) and intumescent coatings are being evaluated. The models are used to assess the thermal response and then the structural response of the FastFloor modules subjected to gravity loading corresponding to the applicable fire load combination.
