SDII’s experimental push-out tests, monotonic and cyclic, to be conducted at Northeastern’s STReSS Laboratory have been completed. The data collected from these tests has been compiled into a compelling form which demonstrates the detailed method of failure for each specimen. It can be seen from the results that the ultimate strength of the cyclic tests performed significantly better than expected, with an average 5% reduction in strength compared to their equivalent monotonic specimens. Further research is being conducted into past pushout tests to understand how this new data compares to historic experimental results. Additionally, work is still being done to calibrate the simulation capacity developed in conjunction with this effort. Contact the SDII team for more information.
